The Governate of Gran Panama (Portuguese: Governança do Grande Panamá) was a constituent of the Mehican Empire from 1805-1823 that had a rocky relationship with its overlords. It was conquered in the aftermath of the First Panama War of 1804, rebelled unsuccessfully in the Second Panama War of 1816, and then finally was restored as the Kingdom of New Granada in the wake of the Third Panama War of 1823.
