The Great War was a conflict that lasted from 1911 to 1915.
It was fought between the Central Powers, made up of Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy and The Ottoman Empire, and the Allied Powers, mainly being made up of the British Empire, France, Russia and Japan.
Causes[]
The War was a direct result of the escalation of the Agadir Crisis between Britain and Germany. When French Troops were sent to Mir to put down a Rebellion, Germany accused France of trying to assert Control onto Morocco and sent SMS Panther and SMS Berlin under the pretext of protecting German Trade Interests.
Britain dispatched two battleships to protect British Trade Routes, and in OTL, Germany was intimidated off. In this timeline, however, Germany engages with the two battleships. This battle is known as the Battle Of Agadir.
This Battle Stunned Europe. No one believed that Germany would escalate this crisis to war, yet they did.
Britain viewed this as a declaration of war and declared war against the German Empire.
