The Republic of Haiti (French: République d'Haïti, Haitian Creole: Repiblik d Ayiti), colloquially known as Haiti, is a sovereign state located on the island of Hispaniola. It borders the United States (via Quisqueya) in the east. Port-au-Prince is both the capital and largest city.
