Early Life[]
Senate Career[]
2008 Presidential Election[]
In 2008 Hillary Clinton became the first woman nominee of a major party. She won the Democratic Primaries despite a tough challenge by Senator Barack Obama. Many thought Obama would pull it off and upset Clinton until video surfaced of him calling Clinton a "c***". Despite the hard feelings, Clinton would give the Secretary of State position to Obama. The Republican Party would nominate Mitt Romney, and it seemed he might defeat Clinton. However, tape surfaced of Romney calling 47% of American's deadbeats that didn't pay income tax. This played into the narrative that Romney was a rich out of touch white guy. His campaign never recovered, and Clinton won 52-44 percent.
HillaryCare[]
One of the biggest pieces of legislation pushed through Congress during Clinton's first term was the single payer system officially called "The Right to Healthcare Act" aka "HillaryCare". This was a huge success and earned praise from both sides of the aisle.
Foreign Policy[]
President Clinton along with secretary of state Obama devised a plan to oust the leaders of Libya, Egypt, and Syria. At the time, this all seemed to work as planned but now we know that the rise of ISIS was due to this failed foreign policy initiative. Benghazi was a major event that would haunt Clinton's final year as president. Barack Obama would eventually resign due to backlash from not answering over 600 cries for help from the American embassy in Benghazi.
2012 Presidential Election[]
