The Holy Britannian Empire, commonly referred to simply as Britannia, is a transcontinental global empire, possessing territories on every continent in the world. It is the largest state in the world and is considered to be the most powerful country, with little to no real opposition.
It can trace its origins to the British isles and the three kingdoms, which form its capital territories. The ruling dynasty, the House of Tudor took the English throne under King Henry VII and held loosely Ireland. His grandson, Arthur I is considered to be the founder of the empire. He established complete control over Ireland and conquered Scotland from the House of Stuart, causing its extinction and becoming King of England, Scotland and Ireland. After a three-decade-long campaign, he declared the formation of the Holy Britannian Empire in 1600 as a Protestant version of the House of Habsburg's claimed authority and protection over the Roman Catholic Christians.
His successors would form a global empire, spanning all continents in the world. When the decline of colonialism began showing itself, Empress Anne I, together with the support of government, established a federal-confederate form of government, granting all territories in the empire equal representation in a massively expanded parliament, which contributed greatly to the survival of the empire by satisfying key demands of its countless subjects. At present, the empire is a confederacy with certain federal elements. Each region over-region is has great autonomy, but is still subject to the federal government, to which it sends representatives. The head of state is the Holy Britannian Emperor or Empress, who belongs to the House of Tudor. The imperial succession law is absolute primogeniture, meaning the eldest child succeeds the parent. The current monarch is Charles III.
The empire came out victorious through the Napoleonic wars, the two World Wars and the Cold War, proving its mettle as the strongest power in the world.
Nowadays, it has the world's largest economy by nominal gross domestic product (GDP), and the largest by purchasing power parity (PPP). It has a high-income economy and a very high human development index rating, ranking 1st in the world. The Holy Britannian Empire became the world's first industrialized country and is the world's foremost power since the 19th century. Today it is the only global superpower, with considerable economic, cultural, military, scientific, technological and political influence internationally. It one of three recognized nuclear weapons state and is ranked second globally in military expenditure. It has been a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council since its first session in 1946.
