The Illini Republic, officially the Second Illini Republic, is a country in North America, located to the south of the Great Lakes in the Midwest. it is bordered by Canada to the north, New Netherlands and West Virginia to the east, Kentucky to the south, and Missouri, Iowa, and Lakota to the west. The republic is made up of __ states, with the biggest being __. It is an economic powerhouse, being the 4th strongest economy on the continent.

The president day territory of the republic had been inhabited by indigenous tribes for centuries. French colonials were the first to arrive in the area, settling near the rivers in the area. The Illinois Country would be a part of the sprawling New France colony until the Seven Years War. Once the American Revolution fired off, a few revolts would occur but the British would retain control of the colony, reorganizing it into the Tecumseh Confederation. Commercial activity would dominate the confederation, and while settlers would begin moving due to this, calls for independence would ring loud. A peaceful transfer of power would happen in 1848 with the signing of the Springfield Constitution and the Statue of London. Rapid industrialization and manufacturing would turn the sprawling transportation hub into an economic powerhouse.
