The Imperial Chinese Navy (Chinese: 水勇士, lit. "Warriors of the Water") known by the ICN or the SZZ is the maritime-fighting branches of the Imperial Chinese Forces. It is currently the world's largest navy, and of three naval superpowers of the world.
The current ICN traces its origins from the various naval forces that have operated in China over the course of its history. It mostly notably inherits the history of the Beiyang Fleet, Nanyang Fleet, Fujian Fleet and the Kuomintang Navy. In the aftermath of the Second World War, during the "Era of Two Governments", the North China and South China had their own navies, made from former Imperial Japanese, U.S. and Russian vessels.
