Ireland (Monarchist World)

The Kingdom of Ireland was established by the Parliament of Ireland in 1542, where upon paraliament decided that the Crown of England will also be Crown of Ireland (Crown Act of 1542) thus joining the realms in a personal union (the English Crown had previously governed Ireland as the Lord of Ireland).

Developer Notes

• Thomas Wentworth was Lord Deputy (Viceroy) of the Kingdom of Ireland during the English Civil War. He was condemned to death by Parliament after a failed attempt to impeach him, and Charles signed the order. That's what happened in our timeline. Turns out he's a man of importance in that conflict and I'll have to look into him before I can continue this article.
• I'd like to, eventually, establish a native Kingship in Ireland- Wales has a King, Scotland has a King, but Ireland does not save in the crown of England. Which during the Kingdom of Irelands real world history lead to many issues. Either Ireland will shake off English rule or the English parliament will carry out more diplomatic means of this with England's government perhaps as a way to deminish ethnic and religious tension. Perhaps in 1800 or 1910. Due to the outcome of the English Civil War the Parliament of Ireland isn't going to be merged with that of England's parliament (what with Parlaiment not being the government center it is in OTL).. This political action could be seen as kin to the 1800 Act of Union; but rather then dissolving the last vestige of home rule in Ireland this political action would bring it into the United Kingdom as a Kingdom (the same status as Wales and Scottland) with a King (from the lords of Ireland) elected by the Irish Parliament and approved by the King of England thus starting the native royalty.. The British Isles are still united as in OTL but under this system will likely not see Irish terrorism, rebellion, revolution, etc in the early 20th century.
