Ireland (Irish: Éire), or the Kingdom of Ireland (Ríocht Éireann) is a country in north-western Europe consisting of the entire island of same name. It is separated from Great Britain to its east by the North Channel, the Irish Sea, and St George's Channel. The capital and largest city is Dublin, on the eastern side of the island. Ireland has an estimate population of 7 million people.
Ireland is an unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy, having an advanced economy and one of Europe's major financial hubs being centred on Dublin. A developed country, Ireland's quality of life is ranked amongst the highest in the world. It shares cultural links with Great Britain, mostly by its monarchy, being ruled by the same monarch, while its relations have been significantly flourishing since the dissolution of the United Commonwealth and subsequent independence.
