Second Cold War is a Live Timeline where Israel strengthens its tensions with its Arab neighbors to the east; creating a chain reaction of spillovers leading to a rise of tensions between NATO and their EU allies, and Russia and their allies.

  • November 9, 2015: Egypt Invades Gaza Region- Flag of Egypt CAIRO, EGYPT: Egyptian troops have been sent to the former territories of the Gaza Strip, in order to annex the region, putting it under Arab sovereignty. The Axis members support this idea, and have situated some volunteers in the region. Meanwhile, America and some other Israeli allies send troops to the area. The UN tries to stop the conflict fearing a potential world war.
  • November 8, 2015: Azerbaijani Troops sent to Dagestan- Flag of Azerbaijan BAKU, AZERBAIJAN: Half of all active Azerbaijani troops have been sent to Dagestan to fight Russia. Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has announced support for an independent Dagestan in order to prevent any Russian aggression in the nation. He also states he'd hopefully like to see other Russian divisions such as Pskov gain independence to protect other victims. A new era of hope has began with the Dagestani separatists; though it is still totally uncertain what the results of these battles will be.
  • November 8, 2015: Construction of Border Wall Begins- Flag of Palestine RAMALLAH, PALESTINE: The border-wall between the West Bank and Israel has started, fearing an invasion from Israel. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has encouraged other Axis nations to send resources over to Palestine to help build the wall and prevent Israeli aggression. So far, Russia and Iran have agreed to send Palestine resources, and most construction workers have been relocated to the border.
  • November 7, 2015: Israel Invades Gaza Strip- Flag of Israel JERUSALEM, ISRAEL: Most of Israel's active military have been sent to the Gaza Strip. With great American support and the military already being very strong, Israel captured the tiny territory in less than a day. This has caused fear in the Gaza Strip; and troops have been placed along the entire border. After the fall of Gaza, talk in the government began regarding a potential border wall between Israel and the West Bank.
  • November 6, 2015: Turkish Troops Caught in Crimea- Flag of Turkey ANKARA, TURKEY: Two Russian photographers have taken pictures of a Turkish prisoner-of-war in a camp in Crimea; Turkey cracks under pressure and more political tension is created in Crimea; with Russian, Ukrainian, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Tatar, and Liberation Party troops, all squabbling over the future of the peninsula.
  • November 6, 2015: Iran Declares War on Fatah- Flag of Iran TEHRAN, IRAN: Iran and Hamas have declared war on Fatah in order to eliminate secularism in Palestine. Muslim volunteers from Russia and the Caucasus are also sent over to Palestine, predominantly the West Bank, in order to get rid of Fatah. The State of Palestine urges Iran to withdraw, as political wars would prevent Palestine's chances of gaining independence.
  • November 6, 2015: Russian Troops Attack Azerbaijan- Flag of Russia MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Reportedly, some Russian troops situated in Dagestan have went rogue from the fighting in Dagestan and launched an offensive into northern Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani military, situated in Nagorno-Karabakh, has had trouble responding with military action. Azerbaijan has requested Georgia to send troops to the area. Georgia declines as they are already under threat due to Abkhazia's membership in the eastern axis and Russia's recognizing them as independent.
  • November 5, 2015: Dagestani Crisis- Flag of Dagestan MAKHACHKALA, DAGESTAN: Dagestani terrorists have began to attack Russian troops in the oblast. They have stated support for Azerbaijan and claim to want independence from Russia. Azerbaijan's tense situation internationally has caused them to refuse support for the Dagestani troops, though they claim they will help them if absolutely necessary.
  • November 4, 2015: Azerbaijan Invades Artsakh- Flag of Azerbaijan BAKU, AZERBAIJAN: Azerbaijani troops have been placed on the border with the semi-independent Nagorno-Karabakh republic, and some have even been sent into the state. Fearing another Azerbaijani-Armenian war, the UN promptly sends peacekeepers into the region to quell the conflict. Russia has encouraged Azerbaijan to "back out of Nagorno-Karabakh", or prepare to be invaded. Troops are situated in Dagestan due to its close proximity to Azerbaijan. The international community has disapproved of Azerbaijan's actions, trying to get troops in the region to evacuate.
  • November 3, 2015: NATO Invades Donetsk- Flag of the Donetsk People's Republic DONETSK, UKRAINE: NATO and Ukrainian armies have been sent to the separatist Donetsk People's Republic in hopes of quelling the Ukrainian civil war. Remaining Russian troops are also sent to the area and the nearby Crimean peninsula although the forces aren't strong enough to keep the Ukrainians back. Russia might be forced to withdraw some troops from the Middle East in order to prevent invasion of the actual nation.
  • November 3, 2015: Egypt Aligns With Iran- Flag of Egypt CAIRO, EGYPT: After the Persian request for Egypt to invade Israel, Egypt has situated troops in Gaza in hopes of aiding Palestine. NATO has placed sanctions on Egypt in hopes of making them leave the region. Egyptian troops have also been reportedly seen aiding Palestinian ones in minor border shootouts. Egypt also requests Iran to send troops to the region to help combat Egyptian ISIS factions.
  • November 2, 2015: NATO Supports Crimean Independence Movements- Flag of Crimea SEVASTOPOL, CRIMEA: Reportedly, NATO troops have sent to the Crimean peninsula in order to liberate the peninsula. This causes some tensions with the Ukraine but the organization states they will also send troops to Donetsk, Luhansk, and Novorossiya. Ukraine accepts the agreement after this. NATO also announces that they won't support the newly made Tatar Party, as they don't want to start up a minority rule in the area like Hussein's Iraq.
  • November 2, 2015: Belarus Joins Tehran Pact- Flag of Belarus MINSK, BELARUS: Belarus has been accepted into the Tehran pact. This scares Eastern European nations, specifically the Baltic nations, as Russia has a greater foothold they could use for invasion. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania situate troops along their borders in order to prevent an invasion from Russia. They also have asked Poland for military support.
  • November 2, 2015: Syria Surrenders the Heights- Flag of Syria DAMASCUS, SYRIA: The Israelite invasion of the Golan Heights has ended; with a clear Israeli victory. Syria has been forced to surrender the Golan Heights, resulting in the Tehran Pact and their opponents giving various actions. Iran's Supreme Leader asked Egypt to invade Israel in hopes of destroying the nation; and Russia situates their first troops in Palestine. NATO accolades Israel and sends more troops to the region.
  • November 1, 2015: Belarusian Government-in-exile Requests Help- Flag of Belarus (1991-1995) NEW YORK, UNITED STATES: The Belarusian government-in-exile has requested the United States government to send troops to Belarus in order to replace the government with their ideology. The United States doesn't officially declare war, though some volunteers are sent over to the nation. This sparks tensions between the United States and the Axis, who have decent ties with Belarus.

  • October 31, 2015: Kurdish Diplomacy- Flag of Syrian Kurdistan QAMISLO, SYRIA: Syrian and Iraqi Kurdistan agree to create an alliance with the opposition and the EU. This creates further tensions in the area, though, as Russia and allies are racing to gain influence in the area. Some nations neutral in the conflict, though, voice that the EU should get out of Syria as it is already a highly contested area; and tensions with Eastern Europe would worsen.
  • October 31, 2015: EU Joins Conflict in Syria- Flag of Europe BRUSSELS, EUROPE: The European Union sends volunteers into Syria, hoping to counteract Axis influence in the Middle East. They also request an alliance with the Syrian Kurds, only if they join the Free Syrian Army and allies, in hopes of creating a democratic Syria and an independent Kurdistan, reducing the conflicts in the Middle East.
  • October 31, 2015: Rebellions Start in Belarus- Flag of Belarus MINSK, BELARUS: Riots have started up in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk; the rebels wanting to oust current president Lukashenko and to replace the current "dictatorship" with the government-in-exile of the Belarusian People's Republic, currently situated in New York. Naturally, the government-in-exile approves of this. Belarus requests to join the Axis in order to quell these rebellions.
  • October 30, 2015: Axis Name Change- Flag of Russia MOSCOW, RUSSIA: All the Axis leaders meet in Moscow in order to change the name of the alliance, fearing association with fascism and Nazism. The leaders agreed on the Tehran Pact, based off of the name of the Warsaw Pact from the first Cold War. This new name, though, creates fear in people around the world that a second Cold War is truly beginning.
  • October 30, 2015: Protests in Crimea- Flag of Crimea SEVASTOPOL, CRIMEA: Protests start in Crimea over the Russian and Tatar occupation. The protesters urge Russia to give Crimea back to the Ukraine and to stop their separatism, or they will own their own faction focused on liberating Crimea. A new political party is formed in Crimea called the Liberation Party, and requests an alliance with the newly formed Tatar Party, created by the Tatar militants, but only if they focus less on creating a Tatar state and focus more on creating a state with balanced equality between all ethnicities. With the Crimean Crisis gaining more traction, Axis volunteers are sent over to the peninsula to keep the peace.
  • October 29, 2015: Fatah-Hamas Conflicts- Flag of Palestine GAZA, PALESTINE: Thanks to Iran's aiding of militant group Hamas and tensions with Fatah, minor shootouts have occurred between the two groups. Iran also has reportedly sent even more troops to the Gaza Strip and West Bank in order to aid Hamas. Other nations criticize Iran's idea though, even Axis members, as their ideal Palestinian state has a secular government.
  • October 28, 2015: Iran & Fatah- Flag of Iran TEHRAN, IRAN: The Fatah militants request for an alliance with Iran, as they are supporting similar-minded group Hamas, even though there are major tensions between the two groups. Iran turns this down, though, as the theocratic government naturally disagrees with the secular Fatah. Iran also encourages Hamas to eliminate Fatah, in hopes of creating a theocratic government in the region.
  • October 28, 2015: Ukraine Requests to Join EU- Flag of Ukraine KIEV, UKRAINE: Ukraine requests to join the European Union as they have been a massive target of Russian aggression, giving them some defense. The European Union happily welcomed Ukraine in.
  • October 27, 2015: Palestine Invades Golan Heights- Flag of Palestine GAZA, PALESTINE: Syria is largely losing the fight against Israel; Palestine acts for a pact with Syria where the Heights can become a Palestinian territory if they win the conflict. Assad states that it would be divided between them; Palestine still accepts this. Palestinian troops are sent to Golan Heights.
  • October 26, 2015: Abkhazia Joins the Axis- Flag of Abkhazia SUKHUMI, ABKHAZIA: In hopes of gaining full sovereignty from Georgia, Abkhazia sends the Axis a request to join the alliance. Russia allows them to join, as it would give it a greater foothold in the Caucasus. Shortly after, Iran and the other members accept in response to the threat posed by the EU.
  • October 26, 2015: European Sanctions- Flag of Europe BRUSSELS, EUROPE: The European Union places sanctions on the Axis in order to prevent a third World War, ultimately encouraged to destroy the alliance. The EU also sends diplomats to China in hopes of establishing better relations of them, and preventing them from joining the alliance. But as Chinese president Xi Jinping stated that "World War III is inevitable", he reluctantly declines the offer.
  • October 25, 2015: Accusation- Flag of Turkey ANKARA, TURKEY: Russia notifies long-time enemy Turkey about the mysterious troops in Crimea. Despite this, surrounded by enemies at all sides, Azerbaijan cracks under pressure and admits they are aiding the Tatar rebels. Hearing about this, small-scale shootouts occur on the Azerbaijan's borders with Armenia and Azerbaijan. Fearing an all-out war, Azerbaijan asks Poland and Georgia to send small amounts of troops to the border. Meanwhile, Turkey blatantly refuses to admit to any kind of affiliation with the Tatar rebels, although some Russian and Ukrainian troops say they swear they saw Turkish troops in Crimea; Turkey states they won't submit unless they see a photo of a Turkish soldier in Crimea first.
  • October 24, 2015: Tatar Separatism- Flag of Crimea SEVASTOPOL, CRIMEA: While Russian and Ukrainian forces squabble over the Crimean peninsula, a militia of ethnic Tatars rise up in the southern portion, the region with the most Tatars. Leader of the Crimean Tatar national movement, Refat Abdurakhmanovich Chubarov, stated his support for the Tatar militia, saying "The Tatars haven't had a state since the 1550s. Our time is now." Both Ukraine and Russia voice concerns over this movement. Allegations also rise about Turkey and Azerbaijan sending aid to the Tatars as foreign troops have been seen in the peninsula on the side of the Tatar militia and the fact that Turks, Azerbaijanis, and Tatars share a common Turkic heritage.
  • October 23, 2015: Syria and Israel Go to War- Flag of Israel JERUSALEM, ISRAEL: To oppose the invasions being launched upon Israel from all sides, Israel launches an impressive campaign in the Golan Heights. Within a short period of time, the impressive Israeli military has conquered most of the disputed territory. Israeli prime minister Netanyahu states that the invasion was to annex the Heights and to scare the Axis nations.
  • October 23, 2015: Agreement in the Axis- Flag of Azerbaijan BAKU, AZERBAIJAN: Russia and Iran find a solution to the Artsakh disagreement. They let in Nagorno-Karabakh as a "honorary" member, allowing them to participate in Axis meetings and send troops into Axis-related military conflicts, but having less power and not being a true member. Russia, Iran, and Syria allow Armenia to remain outside of the Axis despite their close political ties with Iran and Russia, although Nagorno-Karabakh urges Armenia to join the alliance. Meanwhile, Russia also appoints heavy sanctions on Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and other states that might join the anti-Axis bloc founded in the Ukraine. Russia and Iran also pressure Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan to join the alliance as well.
  • October 22, 2015: Azerbaijani Response- Flag of Azerbaijan BAKU, AZERBAIJAN: Azerbaijan urges Iran, Russia, and Syria to scratch the concept of the Middle Eastern axis. Azerbaijan asks for a coalition against the alliance, splitting it up but keeping the relations between Iran and Russia decent. Various countries that had been victim to Russia's "bullying", such as Poland, Georgia, and the Ukraine along with Azerbaijan start an "alliance" in order to counter the Middle Eastern Axis. Other countries, such as Canada and Norway fear the alliance, stating it could potentially start a third World War.
  • October 22, 2015: Artsakh's Request- Flag of Nagorno-Karabakh STEPANAKERT, NAGORNO-KARABAKH: Shortly after Armenia's refusal of the alliance, the government of the semi-independent Nagorno-Karabakh Republic requests an alliance with Russia and Iran, hoping to gain complete independence from Azerbaijan. Iran refuses the request due to their semi-decent relations with Azerbaijan. Russia accepts though, hoping that this could give them more dominance in the Caucasus.
  • October 22, 2015: Middle Eastern Axis- Flag of Armenia YEREVAN, ARMENIA: Iran and Russia ask Armenia for an alliance, creating an axis of countries in the Middle East along with Syria. Along with this, Armenia would make an easy way to get into the other Caucasian states or Turkey if war broke out between them, which it already is in Syria. Armenia declines the alliance, but their president, Serzh Sargsyan, states that they will send aid or join the axis in case of an emergency.
  • October 21, 2015: America Joins the Conflict- Flag of the United States WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES: Fearing Iran growing stronger, the United States situates a minor amount of troops in Israel and Palestine. The President stated, "We are joining the Palestinian conflict. But knowing what could happen with the spillover going all the way from Syria to the Ukraine, we don't want a major role in this war, we'll still situate most of our active troops in Afghanistan and Iraq; if Israel ends up losing, I'll attempt to put a greater military presence in the region, but Israel is strong enough to fend for itself."
  • October 20, 2015: Hezbollah's Response- Flag of Hezbollah BAALBEK, LEBANON: Most of Hezbollah agrees of Iran's proposal; leaving Lebanon and focusing on Israel. Some Hezbollah troops still remain in the Shiite-majority regions of Lebanon, though, although Iran is trying to push the remnants of Hezbollah out of their occupied territories.
  • October 20, 2015: Persian-Lebanese Alliance- Flag of Lebanon BEIRUT, LEBANON: Iran also sought to improve ties with Lebanon like they did with Palestine. Iran offers a plan troops into Lebanon in order to rid of militant Hezbollah. Lebanon accepts the alliance, and situates more troops into Hezbollah-owned territory. Despite this, Iran tries to also improve relations with Hezbollah militants by sending them out of Lebanon and into Israel.
  • October 19, 2015: Confusion in Russia- Flag of Russia MOSCOW, RUSSIA: After Ukraine invades Crimea, mass confusion starts out among the Russian military. In response to this, president Vladimir Putin orders some idle soldiers to operate in the Ukraine. Meanwhile, Ukrainian-led invasions of the Donetsk and Luhansk Peoples' Republics occur.
  • October 18, 2015: Attacks in Crimea- Flag of Crimea SEVASTOPOL, CRIMEA: As Russian troops are moved to Syria, pro-Ukraine rebels start offensives in the peninsula. With most of the mighty Russian military situated in Syria, Russia isn't able to put up more of a fight. Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko also stated "We also have plans to take out Donetsk and Luhansk", fearing separatists in the area. The situation puts Russia in major self-conflict as Ukraine is launching great military campaigns against them, while most of their troops are in or being sent to the Levant.
  • October 17, 2015: Ukrainian Relief- Flag of Ukraine KIEV, UKRAINE: After hearing about Putin's response to the problem in Syria, ethnic Ukrainians all over the country rejoice as Russian troops get sent away to the Levant.
  • October 17, 2015: Russia and Syria- Flag of Russia MOSCOW, RUSSIA: Russian president Vladimir Putin agrees to send more aid from the Ukraine into Syria.
  • October 17, 2015: Assad's Response- Flag of Syria DAMASCUS, SYRIA: While some of Iran's troops situated in Israel are being moved to Palestine and Israel, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad urges Iran to send their troops back to the Levant saying the following: "We need more allies. The only states sending military aid to our government are you and Russia, don't leave me now during these tense times. I'm being killed off by rebels, ISIL, and the Kurds; if you're doing this please don't give up fighting ISIL." Assad also requested for the Russian government to give him more backing in the civil war and less focus on the Ukraine, stating "Ukraine is only being killed off by your actions in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. I am not trying to anger you, I just need help in this war, unlike Ukraine, I'm being killed off by many others; others who aren't allied with you, at least. If you want your main ally in the Middle East to die, go ahead. Leave Syria alone and don't help us."
  • October 16, 2015: Iran Declares War- Flag of Iran TEHRAN, IRAN: Iran officially declares war on Israel. Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, stated the following: "We need to defeat the evil Israel. Our ally, the State of Palestine, is in more trouble in ever now that Israel is threatening to override the still unofficial state." Iran stations some troops from Syria into Israel, hoping to create a major offensive into the nation. Iranian president Hassan Rouhani stated Iran's plans to completely destroy Israel and replace it with a Palestinian Islamic theocracy. He also announces plans to send gear to the the militant group Hamas, trying to help "destroy" Israel. In the wake of the conflict, Ali Khamenei reaffirms the supposed fatwā stating that the used of stockpiling and using nuclear weapons is banned in Islam. Khamenei urges Iran's nuclear program to stop their attempted production of any warheads in the wake of conflict.
  • October 15, 2015: Palestine Sends Troops to Israel-Flag of Palestine GAZA, PALESTINE: The conflicts between Israeli troops and Palestinian military grow so much that Palestine decides to send actual troops over to the border between Israel and Gaza. With the growing amount of enemies, Israel's force in the area is slowly starting to get chipped away at.
  • October 14, 2015: Iranian Thoughts on Israeli Tension- Flag of Iran TEHRAN, IRAN: Iranian president Hassan Rouhani speaks his mind on the increasing tensions between Israel and the State of Palestine. He re-announces his alliance with Palestine, and states that he plans to send troops to the Gaza Strip. This only creates more fear after Obama's denying of Israeli aid as the USA might have to step into the conflict if Iran joins.
  • October 13, 2015: Obama Speaks on Israeli Aggression- Flag of the United States WASHINGTON, UNITED STATES: The shootout continues, leading American president Obama to speak on the matter. "Israel has been seeming to get more aggressive lately. We hope Israel and Palestine can find a peaceful resolution, although this seems very unlikely at this point. I openly support Palestinian statehood, though I still hope my country's relations with Israel can remain well."
  • October 12, 2015: Palestinian Terrorists Attack Israeli Troops- Flag of Palestine GAZA, PALESTINE: Palestinian terrorists engage in a shootout with Israeli troops near the border between Israel and Gaza, killing 12 and injuring 27. This has created further tensions in the territory, fearing citizens of the nearby countries that another war against Israel might be starting up.
  • October 11, 2015: Israel Situates Troops Near Palestinian Borders- Flag of Israel JERUSALEM, ISRAEL: President Reuven Rivlin situates fractions of the mighty Israeli military near the border with Gaza and West Bank. This gives a scare to ethnic Arabs in the area, feeling that Israel and the United States are out to take their sovereignty. Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas states "Us as Palestinians are already in disputed territory, and now our Israeli captors might be planning to take away our notion of independence."
