The Japanese War (Japanese: 再統一戦争, saitōitsu sensō, "Reunification War"; Chinese: 日本战争, rìběn zhànzhēng; 25 June 1950 – 28 February 1953) was a war between the Japanese Democratic Republic (North Japan) (with the support of China and Russia) and the Republic of Japan (South Japan) (with the support of the United Nations, principally from Cygnia). The war began on 25 June 1950 when North Japan invaded South Japan following a series of clashes along the border, and ended on 28 February 1953 with the surrender of North Japan and its eventual reunification with the South on 27 July 1954.
