The Japanese War (Japanese: 再統一戦争, Zaitōitsu Sensō, "Reunification War"; 25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953) was a war between the Japanese Democratic Republic (North Japan) (with the support of China and Russia) and the Republic of Japan (South Japan) (with the support of the United Nations, principally from Cygnia). The war began on 25 June 1950 when North Japan invaded South Japan following a series of clashes along the border, and ended on 27 July 1953 when Russia signed the Treaty of Kyoto with South Japan and its allies after annexing the remainder of North Japan as Hokkaido.
