The 19th presidential election of the Republic of Japan (第19回日本民国大統領選挙, dai-jūkyūkai Nippon Minkoku Daitōryō senkyo) was held on Sunday, 22 March 2020, to elect the President and Vice President of the Republic of Japan. The Constitutional Democratic ticket of President Yukio Edano and Vice President Akira Nagatsuma defeated the Liberal Democratic ticket of Senator Seiko Hashimoto and Assemblyman Noboteru Ishihara. Edano and Nagatsuma were thereby reelected for a second term. The presidential election was held concurrently with the 36th National Assembly and Senate elections.
