Thomas Jeremy "Jim" Ames, Jr. (born 16 July, 1956) is an English actor best known for playing Martin Jones in four films between 1985 and 1991, as well as for his role as Alex Cross on Nova Scotia in the mid-1990's and for his portrayal of Robert Redford in 1999's Robert and Elizabeth, for which he won a Best Actor Academy Award, a SAG Best Actor's Award and a Golden Globe for Best Male Performance.

In 1993, he was voted as People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive and was rated as "England's Sexiest Man" four times by ETV-Entertainment. Following his 50th birthday, he began appearing in fewer and fewer films, and working more towards charitable projects, including his Jim Ames Foundation which donates money to impoverished Bengali children.
