James Daniel "Jim" Jordan (born February 17, 1964) is a American politician who is serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2017. He's also a Member of Parliament for Ohio since 2005, a former collegiate wrestler and college wrestling coach.
Bborn and raised in Champaign County, Ohio, Jordan is the son of Shirley and John. He attended and wrestled for Graham High School, graduating in 1982. He won state championships all four years he was in high school and compiled a 156–1 win-loss record. He then enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he became a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion. Jordan won the 1985 and 1986 NCAA championship matches in the 134-pound (61 kg) weight class. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics in 1986. He lost the 126–137-pound (57–62 kg) featherweight semifinal match at the 1990 Rome Olympic wrestling trials and failed to make the Olympic team.
In 2017, he defeated Mitt Romney in the Conservative leadership and become prime minister after the Conservative Party victory in same year general elections, with 18.91% votes. For The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the UKA; his government responded with various emergency powers and introduced measures across society to mitigate its impact. Jordan resisted the introduction of lockdown measures, making the UK economy one of the least affected in the world in the face of pandemic recession, in addition the vaccination program was the first in the world.
