John C. Ensminger (born August 1934) is a former American politician who served from 1995-2001 as a Nationalist from Louisiana's 5th Congressional District. He previously served as a conservative Democrat from a Monroe-based State House district from 1972-1992, switching parties after leaving Baton Rouge. Elected as part of the 1994 "Common Sense Revolution" that retook the House of Representatives for the National Party and narrowed their disadvantage in the Senate, Ensminger pledged to serve no more than three terms, and kept that promise by declining to seek reelection in 2000.
