As Ford was both nationally and internationally hated and his Vice President Reagan was even more hated, John Glenn swept the Democratic nomination with Lloyd Bentsen and they destroyed the Republicans. Glenn was majorly domestically focused as he passed universal healthcare and made universities way more accessible.
