Born and raised in the Royal House, in Washington, he spent his childhood studying in the best schools of the capital.
His father died in 1990, at the age of 70. His loss was a blow to the country. John had to carry the burden of the succession.
He made his military service in the Royal Guards in 1988, which he left as a Major.
On 29 November 1992, he engaged to actress Catherine Zeta Jones, born in Swansea, Wales on September 25, 1969. The royal wedding was held on 2 May 1994 at the Washington National Cathedral. Several monarchs and heads of state gathered at the ceremony, transmitted live via satellite networks.
John and his wife Catherine have three children:
