John Richard Kasich Jr. (born May 13, 1952) is an American politician, author, businessman, and former television news host who served as Vice President of the United States from 2005 until 2013. Prior to his election as Vice President, he had served as US Senator from Ohio from 1993 until 2005, and as US Representative from 1981 until 1985. He was the Unionist nominee for President in 2012, losing to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. In 2018, Kasich was elected Governor of Ohio, winning re-election in 2022.
From 1985 until 1992, he hosted his own show "Let's Talk Democracy" on OhioLive, a local television channel to Ohio.
