Joseph Stalin (Russian: Ио́сиф Ста́лин) was the most influential Soviet General Secretary during the Cold War, leading the harshest anti-Western period in the history of Russia. Stalin was known for his tyrannical rule, numerous purges, and intentional plagues. In NATO and APTO nations, Stalin was widely hated.
Stalin ruled the Soviet Union from the death of Vladimir Lenin in January of 1924 until his own death in March of 1953.
