Joseph I (born 18 December 1878 – 1941) also known as King Stalin originally born as Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili (Georgian: იოსებ ბესარიონის ძე ჟუღაშვილი) and later being Russified to Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili (Russian: Джозеф Виссарионович Джугашвили) was a Russian military leader, politician and Georgian revolutionarty who became the self-proclaimed king of the short-lived Kingdom of Georgia, He found the House of Vissarionovich (considered both a historical dynasty in both Russia and Georgia), and led the Georgian war of independence against the Russian Empire.

Ethnically Georgian, Joseph grew up in the Georgian Orthodox Church. Growing up in an abusive background, Joseph was told he could never become King of Russia, and to pursue something realistic. Therefore, Joseph murdered his father, and lived a socio-pathic childhood in order to "prove his worth".

Ioseb eventually became the Governor of the Georgia Governorate, where he was known for his iron-fist rule, earning him the Russian monicker "Stalin".

In 1933, sick and tired of the precieved abuses of the native Georgian population by the Russian elite, Joseph Stalin went to plot with the ethnic Georgian Guard to overthrow Russian ruler over Georgia.

Lasting for 3 years, Joseph Stalin successfully siezed control of Tbilisi, declared the Georgian Orthodox Church as the legitimiate state church, and established the House of Jugashvili.

However, a renewed Russian offensive ended the Kingdom of Georgia, placing it back under Russian rule. While Stalin himself was executed, the rest of his family were able to rule the Principality of Georgia as an autonomous Russian principality.

Legacy[]

King Joseph is noted for 2 things: that is, being able to defeat a global power, as well as forming some of the seeds for better treatment of non-Russian minorities living in the Russian Empire.

This led Prime Minister Mikhail Volkov to allow the rest of the House of Jugashvili to rule the Principality of Georgia, as subjects to the Tsar.

In modern-day Georgia, King Joseph is a national hero, who was rehabilitated as a national hero after the successful Georgian Revolution of 1989, and the installation of King Besar as the monarch, although the constitutional monarch, of Georgia.
