Keith Allen Haring (May 4, 1958) is an American artist whose pop art and graphite-like work grew out of the New York street culture of the 1980s.

Haring's work gained popularity from his spontaneous designs on New York City subways - chalk sketches on blank advertising space backgrounds - depicting radiant babies, flying saucers, and deified dogs. [1] After public recognition, he created works on a larger scale, such as colored murals, many of them commissioned. [1] His images "have become a widely recognized visual language". [2] His later work has often addressed political and social issues - especially homosexuality and AIDS - through his own iconography. his painting and his art become inspiring for future artists where he begins to lead the LGBT gay movement, defending causes and also helping in the fight against prejudice.
