Khazaria, officially the Khanate of Khazaria, is a country located at the intersection of Eastern Europe. It lies between the Black Sea to the north and the Caspian Sea to the East. It has a total population of nearly 12 million. Khazaria borders Russia to the north; Kazakhstan to the east; Ciscaucasia to the south; Maeotia to the southwest; Ukraine and the Azov Sea to the west. The nation's capital and most populous city is Rostov which also is the cultural, educational, economic and logistical centre in the Western part of the country while the nation's former capital, Astrakhan, is the eastern equivalent.
