Robert James Ritchie (January 17, 1971 - November 8, 1998), known professionally as Kid Rock, was an American musician, rapper, and songwriter. After having established himself in the Detroit hip hop scene, he broke through into mainstream success with a rap rock sounds.
Kid Rock started his music career, releasing his debut album Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast (1990) on Jive Records. His subsequent independent releases The Polyfuze Method (1993) and Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp (1996) saw him developing a more distinctive style, which was fully realized on his breakthrough and final album Devil Without a Cause (1998), which sold 14 million copies.
He died on November 8, 1998 at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning in his [More to come...]. His death had a significant impact on the music industry and pop culture as a whole. Fans were shocked by his sudden passing and tributes poured in from musicians, fans, and media outlets.
