The Wattasid dynasty (Berber languages: ⵉⵡⴻⵟⵟⴰⵙⴻⵏ, Iweṭṭasen; Arabic: الوطاسيون‎, al-Waṭṭāsīyūn) are the ruling dynasty of Morocco. Established in the early 15th century, the dynasty is mostly composed of Zenata-Berber descent, much like their predecessors, the Marinids. As such, the Wattasid dynasty has been visualized as a successor, not only due to both dynasties sharing lineage to the Banu Abd al-Haqq, but also due to the Marinid recruitment of the Wattasid dynasty in their later years, filling the offices of Grand Vizier and participating in the Ummah. The seat of power for the Wattasid dynasty is Fez.
