The Klan War (sometimes known as the Second Klan War in reference to the period of insurrection by the first KKK after the reconstruction) was a large scale revolt orchestrated by a revived Knights of the Klu Klux Klan and concentrated in the southern states as well as Indiana and California. The war would be triggered by the steady erosion of the racial hierarchy under the successive socialist presidencies of Henry George and Eugene Debs. However, this hierarchy had been previously protected by the bloc of Dixiecrats who had steady control over the south. This would all change with the election of William Z Foster, who would run on a platform of equality and would even have a black vice president.
