The Republic of Kurdistan (Kurdish: Κομαρη Κουρδισταν/Komari Kurdistan) is a sovereign state in the Middle East populated mainly by ethnic Kurds. It is bordered by Romania to the west, Caucasia to the north, Iran to the west and Nejd to the south, and covers much of the Zagros and Taurus mountain ranges.
