Lake Mega-Chad (French: Lac Méga-Tchad) is a large man-made endorheic lake in Central Africa, and is linked tot he Congo Lake to its south, due to the Marcel Plan. Lake Mega-Chad is economically important, as dams are built all across the Congo-Chad Channel, providing water to more than 50 million people living in the six countries surrounding it (Chad, Cameroun, Zinder, Hausa-Fulani, Ubangi-Chari, and France) on the central part of the Sahel. It is the largest man-made lake ever name, and the largest lake in the world.
