Background[]

Armoured warfare experiments started in late 16th Century, after discovery of internal combustion engine in 1586. At first, this type of engine started automobile revolution (1610-1644), but concurrently, Imperial Military Ground Forces were curious about possibility of armoured warfare.

First tank, Romanos-45, was introduced in 1645 and joined last phases of Colonial War. About 100 R-45 were deployed in East Coast Insurgency and successfully destroyed numerous Chinese units. Imperial Military Ground Forces approved continuous funding and development of armoured forces and Imperial Trade Company and Imperial Arsenal of Constantinople started rivalry.

Imperial Arsenal of Constantinople, as center of technical science and many centuries experienced with weapons and armours, had much more experiences than Imperial Trade Company and her armament "Prometheos Division", however, ITC had much more resources. Despite that.

Despite that, in 1700 Imperial Government and Imperial Army assigned Imperial Arsenal Armoured Bureau, subdivision of Imperial Arsenal of Constantinople, with job to design and produce new Main Battle Tank, that will replace, or reinforce Augustus-99 and Iskanderun tanks.

Imperial Government and Imperial Military gave Imperial Arsenal of Constantinople list of requirements for new tank:

  1. Tank must be capable to transport military infantry squads and supplies
  2. Tank must have smallest crew (C-1685 had 4 crewman)
  3. Tank must be compatible and linked with virtual intelligence
  4. Tank must be light, fast and with long operational range

These requirements, at start, look incredible difficult, but Imperial Government provided 7 million Hyperpyrons (280,000,000$) on development and Imperial Military funded development by another 5 million Hyperpyrons (200,000,000$)

On other hand, Arsenal designers that small crew is very capable with transportation capabilities and that requirements, despite they are difficult, they are not exclude mutually, which was one of first concern of designers.

Primary advantage and disadvantage of tank was virtual intelligence. Extreme capable in targeting and destroying enemy targets, fully reliant on radar-communication towers, mobile computer hubs and Electronic Warfare Corps. Only latest version Apocalypse, did not had virtual intelligence.

Completion of development and introduction was postponed to 1715. Since 1707, Empire deployed various satellites through Outer Space. At first, they were only communication, military, spy and civilian satellites, but Arsenal technicians and computer experts claimed that they can be used to control virtual intelligence and keep communication with central computer systems. From 1713 to 1715, Empire deployed 12 satellites designed only to virtual intelligence control and command and tank was introduced in to Imperial Military.

However, real development, testing and introduction continued to 1719, when started Second Pan-European War.

Versions[]

L-1710 Basic Combat Tank[]

Earlier and most used version. Aside of presence of virtual intelligence and small crew, another asset is "Bio-Metallic Armour". In Imperial Military Science, technicians and scientists accepted course of using combination of anorganic metallic materials and bio-organisms and biological materials to improve strenght of armours. Combination of various microorganisms, include funguses and microbiotics, Caesar-serie armour is much lighter and much firm then other non-organic metallic armours. Because of that, 45mm of Caesar armour have strenght of high-quality 600mm armour.
