Alternative History
Small coat of arms of the Czech Republic

The Duchy of Bohemia was established in 870, before being raised to the Kingdom of Bohemia in 1198, although several Bohemian monarchs ruled as non-hereditary kings beforehand, with the title going as far back as 1085. After 1004 Bohemia was a part of the Holy Roman Empire, and its ruler served as an imperial elector. The Kingdom of Bohemia has been ruled by the House of Přemyslid since its inception.

Disputed Succession[]

During the War of the Three Henrys, Henry IV was temporarily deposed from 1552 through 1553, during which time two rival claimants sought the throne of Bohemia: the Jungist claimant Henry the Protector, and the Catholic claimant Henry the Pious.
