The Canadian Prime Minister is The Head of Government in The Canadian Federal Government, several (such as William Lyon "Mackenzie" King) have been elected several times non-consecutively, though their original number remains the same despite being elected after a successor with a higher number.

Two women have taken up the role of Prime Minister, both unelected and acting as interim leaders until the next federal election, this led to much Controversy when it came to Turmel's reign as she remained in office long after an election was supposed to be called.
