The Kings and Queens of Anglia are normally dated from Sweyn I's rule, even though Anglia did not become independent from Wessex until the defeat of Edmund II Ironside by Cnut I a few years later.

War of Anglian succession.

William II's sole heir, his sister Anna I, is unable to inherit continental properties due to Salian law. Through mutual consent she acts as regent for Danish and Luxembourgoise claimants in Anglia itself.
