The Middle Kingdom, a hegemonial superpower
After being delayed for over 100 years, constitutional monarchy finally found its way into a unified China. The new Zhou dynasty (intentionally called like this), which overthrew the Ming and Qing after a bloody war was a unifying and popular force. Nonetheless, many Chinese nationalists are upset over the loss of the colonial empire, which gradually transformed into a more federal kind of supra-national organization. China's economy is now the most developed one in the world and still rapidly growing; the global economy rotates around the stock exchange in Hangzhou.
