Jefferson Davis
Jefferson Davis June 3, 1808 - February 22, 1893 February 18, 1861 February 20, 1867 National Confederate First President of the CSA regarded as a hero by Confederates. Declared war on the Union (1861) and led his country with great success against the North, this was only possible because of Austrian backing.
Judah P . Benjamin August 6, 1811 - May 6, 1884 February 21, 1867 February 26, 1879 Democratic He continued the war with the USA, but seeing that neither side could win the war without losing many thousands of lives he decided to call a ceasefire and at the Benjamin-Grant agreement (1868) made an official peace. Made amendment to constitution (1872) that allowed Presidents to be re- elected, which happened to him in 1873.

Jefferson Davis ' ' ' ' February 27, 1879 February 1, 1891 National Confederate After his re election in 1879 Davis' main aim was to create a larger , wealthy CSA. In 1886 he signed the Panama act with Colombian president Serrano which gave Panama to the CSA. In 1888 he supported a military coup under General Diaz in Mexico and in 1890 signed an alliance with them.
Thomas Mitchell Campbell April 22, 1856 - April 19, 1940 February 1, 1891 June 23, 1897 Democratic A dedicated expansionist he ordered war against Cuba (1891) and subsequent invasion.
John Nance Garner
John Nance Garner November 22, 1868 - October 10, 1949 June 23, 1897 July 1, 1903 National Confederate Won by only 500 votes against Campbell. Signed Salt Lake City agreements (1899) and tried to keep peace. Tried to grant freedom to conquered states and gave Cuba statehood (1902) beaten by Campbell before he could make any real changes though.

Led the USA through the early years of the Civil war, regarded by many US citizens as the second father of the US. He believed in an end to slavery and the oppression it caused for all Americans. In November 1865 he was assassinated by a Confederate army officer, whilst celebrating his re-election. The same day he died Lincoln had changed his Vice President from Johnson to Grant.
Ulysses S
Ulysses S. Grant April 27, 1822 - July 23, 1885 November 11, 1865 March 4, 1877 Republican An army officer had risen to become army chief of staff (1864) but in 1865 was asked by Lincoln to become his Vice President, later that day Lincoln died and Grant became President. Grant led a desperate struggle (1866 - 68) but eventually was forced to make peace with the CSA.
Samuel S Carroll
Samuel S. Carrol September 21, 1832 - March 20, 1881 March 4, 1877 March 20, 1881 Democrat Had previously fought under Grant but in 1877 decided to run against him for the Presidency. Managed just about to secure peace. Was elected for a second term (1881) but died after a riding accident a week later.

Grover Cleveland March 18, 1837 - June 24, 1908 March 20, 1881 June 12, 1885 Democrat Carrol's Vice President, an ambitious man he tried to expand the USA but ended up simply making diplomatic situations. Very popular at the Beginning of his presidency until the arrival of his arch-Rival, Theodore Roosevelt.

Theodore Roosevelt October 27, 1858 - August 26, 1932 June 12, 1885 July 1, 1893 Republican Roosevelt had been a cavalry officer (1877 - 84) reaching the rank of Major in 1884 at the age of 26. a year later he entered politics and became president (America's youngest ever). He was a very war like man and hated the south intensely.
Grover Cleveland 2
Grover Cleveland ' ' ' ' July 1, 1893 March 20, 1901 Democrat Managed to bring peace to the sticky situation created by Roosevelt. Even managed to get "Guaranteed peace" at the Salt Lake City Conference (1899). Was finally defeated by Roosevelt in 1901 after being leader of the Democratic Party for 20 years exactly.

Woodrow Wilson
Woodrow Wilson December 28, 1856 - February 4, 1924 July 14, 1909 July 14, 1913 Democrat Had stood in the shadows for 25 years as governor of West Virginia. When his time finally came it was brief. His main achievement was keeping the USA out of the war.

John J. Pershing September 13, 1860 - June 30, 1950 July 14, 1921 July 14, 1929 Republican An experienced army officer, he had been in charge of the Army of Louisiana during the Great War and in 1918 he had been made chief of staff. In 1920 he left the army and entered politics. He was elected President by the Republican party in 1921 and later that year he was officially elected. Led the USA well during the roaring twenties and kept it out of war. Industrialized the North more and constructed the New trans American highway.
Charles G Dawes
Charles G. Dawes August 27, 1865 - April 23, 1951 July 14, 1929 July 14, 1933 Democrat Dawes had been a Republican until 1927 when he saw the coming danger of financial crisis. He warned Pershing but Pershing wouldn't listen to him so he left for the Democrats. He became their candidate for the 1929 election and when he was elected it was only a 54% majority. Dawes was elected just in time, 6 months later the Wall St crash struck and Dawes had to save millions of jobs. His plan of work was simple, to get everyone working again within a year. It worked but he was defeated by Hoover in 1933 before the change was complete.
Herbert Hoover
Herbert Hoover August 10, 1874 - April 23, 1934 July 14 1933 April 23, 1934 Republican Wanted a slower recovery. Lied to the public that Dawes' economic policy would lose the USA a lot of money and jobs, handled the depression very badly and by April 1934 he was regarded as a liar who would wreck the country. He was assassinated by a New York shop owner.
Henry Ford July 3, 1863 - December 31, 1947 April 23, 1934 July 14, 1941 Republican Had been Vice President under Pershing from 1925 and for hoover. had set up a successful motor company but went bankrupt in 1932. A shrewd businessman he managed a recovery much like a company and was able to officially declare an end to the depression in 1939. He took the Republicans farther to the Right and even considered banning Jews from America. This had no support from his government and he was forced to step down in 1941 losing the election anyway to Dawes.
