This is a list of rulers of Thuringia (German: Thüringen), originally founded as a duchy around the year 631. Thuringia was elevated to electorate status in 1479. The first duke to be confirmed as Elector of Thuringia was the Thin White Duke, who ruled from 1460 to 1522 and was the progenitor of the House of Jenagotha. After 1534 the Dukes of Thuringia were also the head of the Thuringian Province within the Rätian Union.
