The President of the Republic of Chile (Spanish: Presidente de la República de Chile) is the head of state and the head of the government of Chile. The Chilean Presidency is the highest political position in Chile, who is the chief of the execute branch of the republic. The current version of the Constitution of Chile (approved in 1982, amended in 2000), the president is directly elected to a four year-term, without possibility of immediate re-election.
