Mary Elizabeth Truss (born 26 July 1975) is a Novanglian politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for the West Beresford constituency since 2010, currently also serving as Secretary of State for Education as well as many other Ministerial Offices under the Morgan cabinet.
Born and raised in the province of New Oxford, Truss studied philosophy, politics and economics at Hurlingham University, where she was deeply influenced and inspired by the then-incumbent Prime Minister Paul McCartney, a member of the Radical Civic Union. Despite initially being more identified with the Conservative Party, Truss officially joined the R.C.U. in 1995. After unsuccessful attempts to enter the House of Representatives, she was elected to be MP for West Beresford in 2010. Truss campaigned to become Leader of the Party in 2020, but she would instead abandon these ideas and ease the path for Diane Morgan, who eventually became Prime Minister shortly after and appointed her to her current office as Secretary of State for Education, assuming it in November of the same year.
Truss is a staunch supporter of the Henrylandic Monarchy and continuing its rule over Novanglia, but also sharing the party's reformist ideas in areas such as the economy and various matters regarding education. As a Member of the Parliament, she became one of the most famous modern MPs for various videos shared and considered "humoristic" in the Weltemp, something that makes her appealing and gains her support from the youth.
