Lloyd Millard Bentsen Jr. (February 11, 1921 – August 23, 2011) was an American politician who was a four-term Vice President of the United States from 1989 to 1997, on the president Michael Dukakis ticket. Bentsen was a candidate for vice in the 1988 elections on the Michael Dukakis ticket, where he became known for the phrase '' Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy ''. He also served in the House of Representatives from 1949 until 1955 and Senator from Texas.
