They normally go viral through social medias like Screeno, MySpace, Twitter, etc.

History[]

Origins and early memes[]

SAYWHAT2

Gandhi saying his famous phrase

The origins of the term "meme" go back to the beginnings of the Weltemp in the early 2000s. The text font "Impact" would begin to be used, resulting in the creation of the most used meme format, with one text at the top and another at the bottom.

The first memes would start to become popular on YouTube, for example, one of the first viral memes on the platform would be the phrase "Say What?!" From the character Gandhi in Clone High USC. The remixes of this scene would be the basis for the later created format called "Screeno Poop"

Mosleg

An early meme featuring Oswald Mosleg from the movie Bobby Bernard's Barbaric Ballsack

Later, new memes would be created such as "Take On Me" which consisted of sending a link with a bait, this link would result in the song "Take on Me" by the band A-ha.

Numa Numa[]

However, the most famous meme on YouTube and later on Screeno would be "Numa Numa" This video consisted of Gary Brolsma passionately dancing to the song "Numa Numa" This meme would catapult the popularity of the young Gary, making him become the most subscribed screener on his platform.

Gary Brolsma's career growth would be a demonstration to the Weltemp of just how powerful memes can be when they go viral.

Darksydephil vs Agumon[]

Capcom vs. Sega: Worlds Collide, Oops, We Gave Someone Fire Balls, He Kills Everyone!

–One of Darksyephil's most infamous quotes during the affair.

Your mother probably sh$t you out, you f#cking piece of sh!t! Learn how to fucking play a game and be an honorable player, don't just spam f#cking projectiles, you stupid idiot. And now, as you live in you mom's basement you can celebrate by eating your whole fucking bag of Doritos and chugging down your f#cking Fanta, 'cause you gotta win with Agumon, since you're so good. F#CK YOU, YOU STUPID LITTLE BI-!

–Part of Darksyephil's infamous rant.

*Laughs* It's always my fault, he never blames himself!

–Vinny reacting to a collection of videos about his fights with Phil

Dinosaur with fireballs: "That's bullshit, DOOD." Little Red Riding Hood with weapons stuffed in her clothes: "This is great, she's now my main!"

–Common phrase used to mock Phil's apparent hypocrisy

One famous meme relates to the game Capcom vs. Sega. The star of this meme is Darksydephil (a.k.a The King of Hate), a Screeno user and member of the fighting game community notorious for his apparent lack of gameplay skills and short temper. During his Capcom vs. Sega videos, he would often fight against Agumon, a character who relies on fireball projectiles. Phil would use this as an example of poor balance and people using overpowered characters, however, many noted that he tended to use bulkier characters like Balrog and Bahn, who were ill-suited to fight Agumon.

Among the several Augmon users in the game was streamer Vinny, from Vinesauce; he typically partnered Agumon with Kamen Rider. This led to many viewing Vinny as Phil's superior rival, though by Vinny's own admission, he had little idea who Phil even was. The most famous fight, however, was with Protonjon. DSP was using Demitri and Balrog, while Jon was using Bayonetta and Agumon. Jon never even got to switch in Bayonetta, Demitri failed to hit Agumon, Phil got angry, and eventually he gave up and just walked towards Agumon while ranting at Jon.

In 2012, Capcom would release Baby Bonnie Hood from Darkstalkers as a DLC character, alongside Gabumon from Digimon. Phil quickly purchased her and made her one of his mains. Many were quick to cry hypocrisy, as B.B. Hood used projectiles to a far greater extent than Agumon ever did. This led to a variety of image edits mocking the whole affair.
