Miami is a city located on the southern tip of Florida. The city is famous for its sub-tropical climates, its beaches, a cruise-ship destination, and EDM shows.
History[]
World War III[]
Miami's famous seaports were used by the U.S. Navy for its operations in the Atlantic Ocean. The neighboring city of Fort Lauderdale also saw the same function. When Cuba entered the war, the U.S. Navy increased its presence in the city. Allied ships were also allowed to dock in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The city received an influx of Bahamian, Haitian, and Dominican refugees since their countries were occupied by Cuba. Cuban Air Force also tried to attack the state, but were mostly shot down by the U.S. Air Force and the Florida Air National Guard.
While the state was never invaded by Cuban forces, a small contingent of Cuban troops occupied the relatively low-population density of the Florida Keys. The small island chain was liberated soon afterwards.
