The military of the Celtic Alliance , the Celtic Defence Force (CDF) is divided into three parts: the CGDF, the CNDF and the CADF.
The Celtic Alliance maintains a military force of 50,000 troops, of which:
- 25,000 are part of the (Army)
- 17,500 are part of the CNDF (Navy)
- 5000 are part of the CNI (Marines and Special Forces)
- 3500 are part of the CADF (Airforce)
CGDF
The Celtic Ground Defense Force (CGDF) is made up of the combined military forces of Ireland and the remnants of the United Kingdom.
Equipment used includes:
- Leopard One Main Battle Tanks (MBT)
- Challenger One MBT
- FV342 Armored Personal Carriers (APC)
- Abbot Self Propelled Guns (SPG).
- Highland All-Terrain Battle Rover (HATBR)
- The standard weapon of the CAA is the SLR Semi-Automatic rifle. Other Weapons include the FN MAG58 Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and the Milan Anti Tank Guided Weapon (ATGW)
- The Special Forces (SF) unit of the CGDF is the Celtic Rangers Wing (CRW).
- The Special Forces have access to a variety of weapons including the HK33 assault rifle, the M249 machine gun, the Uzi, H&K MP5, and shotguns like the Remington 7-60 & SIG Benelli M3.
The Army has recently started recently started replacing the Leopard Ones with Challenger One MBTs, based on examples salvaged from the remains of the Royal Tank Regiment base in the town of Bovington, Dorset. An Armored Division using a combination of the new tanks and some of the older ones were deployed in 2009 to Canada to fight in the Saguenay War, playing a pivotal role in the recapture of the Gaspe Peninsula. These forces were redeployed to the Sicily Theater in the summer of 2010, following victory in North America, where they took part in the successful invasion of Tunisia.
The Army of the Celtic Alliance is made up of ten Battalions, each with five Companies of 500 troops.
CNDF
Celtic Naval Defence Force (CNDF) uses:
6 Antrim class frigates (based on the Type 21 class, but updated with Seawolf SAMs - specifically based on HMS Avenger and HMS Ardent launched from Glasgow, Scotland in 1975)

9 Dublin class destroyers (based on the Type 42 batch 2 class - Specifically based on HMS Liverpool that had been launched from Birkenhead, Merseyside in 1980)

3 Sabre class amphibious assault ships (based on a modernized version of the Fearless class - Specifically HMS Intrepid build at Clydebank launched in 1963)

4 Korrigan class submarines (based on the Type 2400 design, as proposed by Vickers Pre-Doomsday - build from designs found in Cammell Laird workshops, Birkenhead).

Construction started in March 2010 of the Celtic Ship (CS) Remembrance, the first of two planned Remembrance class light aircraft carriers. They are based around the Invincible class operated Pre-Doomsday by the Royal Navy, but bigger and without the Sea Dart SAM system. They will have a Carrier Air Group (CAG) consisting of 12 Sea Harrier FRS.2s, 8 Sea King ASW.8s and 4 Sea King AEW.4s.
- CS Rememberance - Launched January 2012, expected to come into service in May 2012.
- CS Solace - Under construction, expected completion June 2013.
A Task Force was deployed off the coast of Canada, consisting of three Amtrim class frigates (CS Fermanagh, CS Derry, CS Tyrone), one Dublin class destroyer (CS Waterford) and a Sabre class amphibious assault ship (CS Sabre), along with two Korrigan class submarines (CS Bodach and CS Kelpie) to fight in the Saguenay War. Another force of a similar size, and the one sent to Canada after the end of fighting there, were sent to the Mediterranean.
CNI
The Celtic Naval Infantry (CNI) act as marine's and include a naval special forces unit, the Maritime Combat Force (MCF).
There are two Battalions in the CNI.
- 1st Marines Battalion
- 2nd Marines Battalion - Includes two companies of Maritime Combat Force.
Each Battalion is split into five companies, each with 500 troops. Each Company has five platoons, each with 100 troops.
Currently the CNI has a troop complement of 5000 troops.
The CNI is an integral part of the CNDF. A Battalion was deployed to Canada to fight in the Saguenay War. The other battalion fought in the invasion of Sardinia during the Second Sicily War.
CADF
Celtic Air Defence Force (CADF) operates:
- Pilatus built PC-7 trainers
- Saab Viggens in the strike/air defense/reconnaissance roles.
- Puma helicopters in the transport role, as well Lynx helicopters in the attack role
No.11 Squadron of the CAAF was deployed to Canada with its Viggens to fight in the Saguenay War. Several more squadrons were deployed to Corsica and Spain during the Second Sicily War.
