The Venetian government is similar to a constitutional republic. The head of state is called a Doge and is elected by the people of Venice. Unlike other of it's neighbors, Venice's leader has the power to do anything without anyone's approval. However, more pressing matters such as declaration of war, passing of laws are still required to be processed by the Great Council specifically the members of the Senate. The Venetian courts are divided into 3 categories. The civil court, the high court and finally the general court. The civil court is used with handling crimes such as disrespecting an official or member of the law and etc while the high court is the most commonly used and handles crime such as stealing, fighting and more pressing matters. The final one is the general court. The general court is used either to sentence one person or have him trialed due to heavy crimes such as murder, blasphemy and many more.

Manpower[]

Venice's manpower is no doubt powerful. Despite Venice not being mainly a land force it's armies had stood beside with the rest of Christendom for nearly 2 centuries and has contributed the most in it's recent conflicts both directly and indirectly. The Venetian navy numbers around 350 galleys, 200 frigates and hundreds more of warships making Venice formidable at sea. It's army is also not behind, with around 45,000 men and advanced technology the Venetians had use them for centuries in quelling down rebellions and assisting it's allies in war.
