Naruhito (徳仁, born February 23, 1960) is the current imperial ruler of Japan who holds the titles of Emperor of Japan, Emperor of Manchukuo, and the other Protectorates and Colonies of Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Organization, following the abdication of his father Akihito-contributing to the end of the Heisei Era (specifically the 29th year of the Heisei Era) and the beginning of the Reiwa period in the Japanese Empire and the Empire of Manchukuo.
