New Caledonia is a territory currently administered by the Republic of the French Southern Territories. After gaining de facto independance from France following Doomsday with the metropolis ceasing to exist as a united country, it joined in 1999 the also independant French Polynesia département in an union that would result in the formation of the Republic of the French Southern Territories it is currently administered under.
