The New Granadian Civil War was a multi-party civil war in New Granada, immediately after the Double Coups of 1917, as many factions vied to determine New Granada's political future. The two largest combatant groups were the Fontenistas, a Fascist faction led by Olavo Dantes, and the Governmental forces known as the Veralistas led by Ulisses Verala who had dissolved the Cotes Gerais in order to establish a military junta in New Granada. In addition to these factions, there was the Syndicalists Faction led by Silvio Duarte who fought against the Fontenistas and Veralistas.
