New Mexico is a state in the western United States. It borders Colorado and Utah to the north, Nevada to the northwest, California to the west, Mexico to the south, and the Confederate States to the east. Its capital is Santa Fe and its largest city is Phoenix. It was admitted to the union on January 6, 1912.
