The Republic of Newfoundland and Labrador or more commonly known as East Canada is a republic located in maritime Canada.

History

Great Nuclear War

During the war no cities or base were targeted in Newfoundland and Labrador. Fallout was minimal, though general chaos in St. Johns did occur.

Immediately following the Great Nuclear War the Prime Minister and the Lieutenant Governor collected the House of Assembly in order to talk about future strategy and overall policy.

The Prime Minister attempted to contact the central government, but after weeks of attempts, received no answer. Many came to the conclusion that the Maritimes were alone in their journey, and that self-sufficiency would be required. A plan was adopted, wherein the border would be sealed off as much as possible, and a number of refugees not exceeding 100,000; and only those with credentials.

Soon, the Prime Minister proposed the creation of an official Provisional Republic of Newfoundland and Labrador, until the situation normalized. Thus, the House of the Assembly established officially the Republic and appointed Campbell Leonard Macpherson as the first president of Newfoundland and Labrador.
