Nicholas Perry (May 19, 1992 - July 5, 2019) was a Russian-born American singer, musician, songwriter and internet celebrity well known for playing the violin. At the time of his death, he accumulated 3.36 million subscribers on his Screeno channel.

Born in Kherson, Ukraine and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Perry gained recognition in 2016 when his cover of Twenty One Pilots' Heathens went viral. Perry began producing other violin covers as well and even his own songs between 2016 and 2019. Perry died of a heart attack in his Los Angeles apartment while filming a house tour that he planned on uploading to Screeno at the age of 27.

Internet career[]

Nicholas Perry's career began in 2012 when he first began to upload his violin performances to Screeno. His multicultural background and early exposure to diverse influences played a crucial role in shaping his unique musical style. In 2016, Perry's breakthrough moment arrived when his cover of Twenty One Pilots' "Heathens" went viral. This marked the genesis of his internet celebrity status, and he quickly garnered attention for his ability to infuse classical instruments into contemporary hits. He started to perform more varied violin covers, with renditions of popular songs across several genres. Beyond covers, Perry also showed his original lyrics and compositions, and often collaborated with fellow musicians and creators.
