Nintendo Matrix is a console developed by Nintendo during the sixth generation of video games and competed with the Sega Venus, the Atari 11000, and the Apple GameCube. Released in 2000, the console was the first Nintendo console to support DVD, although the Atari 9000 had an add on that can play DVDs, and was the first to have internet connection on a modified Windows Millennium.
Despite getting a positive reception from critics, who praised the DVD playback, game library, and improved online services, it underperformed commercially.
