  • June 28, 1914: Franz Ferdinand, future Emperor of Austria-Hungary, survives assassination attempt.
  • August 15, 1914: Panama Canal opens.
  • November 3, 1914: In the US mid-term elections, Republicans gain 72 seats in the House of Representatives, but Democrats still maintain a majority.
  • December, 1914: The Conservative Party wins a majority in the UK elections, ending five years of a hung Parliament. Andrew Bonar Law becomes Prime Minister.
  • November 7, 1916: Woodrow Wilson is defeated by Republican challenger Charles Evans Hughes. Republicans gain a narrow majority in the House and Senate.
  • November 21, 1916: Franz Ferdinand becomes Emperor of Austria.

  • January 22, 1920: George V abdicates resulting in the establishment of the British Commonwealth.
  • February 15, 1920: A coup d'etat staged by Ultranationalists topple the newly established British Commonwealth, led by William Wallace, a self-proclaimed descendant of the Scottish Warrior of the same name they establish a Totalitarian Dictatorship with Wallace as the Supreme Ruler of the British Empire
  • March 14,1920: Wallace expands Britain's military leading to rapid recovery of its economy.  Wallace increases troop presence in Britain's colonies, including Canada as the United Kingdom annexes all of their overseas territories and Dominions forming the British Empire. 
  • November 2, 1920: President Hughes wins re-election over James Cox. Republicans now hold a super-majority in both the House and Senate.
  • August 1, 1921: British troop levels in Canada reaches 100,000.  US issues ultimatum to Britain, withdraw by Jan. 1, 1922 or face war.

  • July 1928: The Washington Peace Conference begins as the terms for the members of the Greater Entente (excluding Japan and Russia) are written.
